The Blends

What exactly is Texas Grit?
Texas Grit is pocket-size snack seasoning, blended in Texas. Each can is built to ride in your pocket, bag, or glovebox so you can fix bland food anywhere — chips, fries, popcorn, tacos, eggs, road-trip snacks, whatever needs more grit. We make four blends, each modeled on a different region of Texas.
What flavors do you make?
Four regional blends: Panhandle (Sweet Smoke Chili — mild, smoky-sweet BBQ), Hill Country (Garlic Lime Pepper — bright, everyday, medium), West Texas (Black Pepper Garlic — bold salt-and-pepper brisket bark, hot), and Rio Grande (Sweet Mango Chili — sweet-then-spicy chili-lime, hot). See them all on the flavor lineup.
How spicy are they?
It ranges by blend. Panhandle is mild — smoky warmth, not a burner. Hill Country is medium, more pepper warmth than chile burn. West Texas runs hot, but that's sharp black-pepper heat rather than a slow chile burn. Rio Grande is sweet up front with real chile heat building on the finish. Want the mildest? Start with Panhandle. Want the most kick? Reach for West Texas or Rio Grande.
Which blend should I start with?
New to Texas Grit? Hill Country is the easy everyday pick — garlic, lime, and cracked pepper that goes on almost anything. Want smoky and mild? Panhandle. Want it loud? West Texas. Want sweet-and-spicy for fruit and snacks? Rio Grande. Can't decide? Grab all four — 4+ cans ship free.
What's in each blend?
Every blend lists its full ingredients on its flavor page — for example, Panhandle is mesquite smoke, brown sugar, dark chile, tomato, garlic, onion, and paprika. Open any flavor page for the complete ingredient list and net weight.

Ingredients & Dietary

Do your blends contain MSG, gluten, or common allergens?
Every can is real herbs, spices, and seasonings — no MSG, and none of the major food allergens (milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, or shellfish) are used as ingredients. Our blends are also made without gluten-containing ingredients. Recipes can evolve over time, so if you have a serious allergy or dietary restriction, give the ingredient panel on your can a quick read or email howdy@gettexasgrit.com before you dig in — we're glad to help.
How should I store it, and can I take it with me?
Take it wherever you go — Texas Grit is built to ride along in your truck console, ice chest, tackle box, or back pocket, so you can season wherever the day lands. When it's not in use, keep it somewhere cool and dry with the lid closed. Like any real spice blend, it holds its punch best away from heat, moisture, and direct sun — so give it a shady, dry spot to wait for the next run.

Using It

How do I use it?
Shake it straight from the can onto finished food, or season while you cook. It's ground fine so it clings to chips, popcorn, fries, and fruit, and it works just as well rubbed on meat, eggs, or veggies — or around the rim of a drink. There's no wrong way. Put it on everything.
How much seasoning is in a can?
Our pocket cans hold 1.0 oz (28.3 g) for Panhandle and Hill Country, and 1.4 oz (39.7 g) for West Texas and Rio Grande. The exact net weight is printed on each can and listed on its flavor page.
